Description

Known throughout the world as both a sports artist and Playboy cartoonist, LeRoy Neiman is an artist whose original work has rapidly moved up on most collectors’ wish lists. This large original watercolor rendering of Jordan done at Madison Square Garden illustrates four different views of the Bulls' superstar. Displaying images that are unmistakably Michael Jordan, this early 1990s piece is truly a one-of-a-kind item. Neiman's typical on-site action watercolor paintings are usually small and lack detail. This extraordinary detailed example is fully 15x20 (image size) on snow-white rag paper and has been museum matted and framed (24x36) in archival form. The piece has been signed in pencil "LeRoy Neiman - Madison Square Garden - NY - 1990" by its creator. In the lower left Neiman has inscribed the name of his subject - "Michael Jordan" in Bulls red. Unlike most of Neiman’s creations, this wonderfully crafted artwork was never made it to the serigraph stage, so this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to obtain this marvelous relic. The piece is also signed on the back of the frame by Neiman.
