Description

Thrust into the executive role at the tender age of 42 (upon William McKinley's assassination), former U.S. President Teddy Roosevelt was no stranger to leadership duty. This 1904 Presidential Campaign pin hawks Roosevelt's candidacy to retain the office. The 1-1/4"-diameter celluloid accessory reads "THEODORE ROOSEVELT FOR PRESIDENT 1904" along the perimeter. The central image is an alluring reminder of Roosevelt's role in the Spanish-American War. In vibrant colors, the "Rough Riders" soldier is pictured on his horse with an American flag likeness and "San Juan" printed just to the right. The item shows stunning quality with pinback intact and expected oxidation on the reverse.
