Well-traveled backstop Phil Roof wore this Kansas City Athletics home vest during the 1966 season. This gold flannel button-down garment features the club's Gothic Script "A" logo sewn to the left breast in green-on-white double twill and "4" sewn to the back and right front in like fashion. Green-and-white striped piping lines the collar and arm openings, while the tapered left front tail is home to a "Wilson" size "44" label and a swatch with stitched notations of "66-2." Just above the tagging, Roof's black marker autograph shows ("8") strength with minimal ink migration. The unaltered jersey shows moderate wear with puckering about the twill components and slight color fading. LOA from B&E Collectibles.
